Record-breaking Spirit Tree fundraiser to support 130 local families

The Grande Prairie community has been generous in the season of giving.

The Spirit Tree, at Browns Socialhouse Westgate, says this year’s fundraiser collected $150,000 to support 130 families in the Grande Prairie area this Christmas.

This amount doubles the previous record set in 2018 when $75,000 was raised through the Spirit Tree at Browns Socialhouse.

The restaurant says 100 per cent of the donations go directly to families in need, with all costs associated with building, maintaining, and operating the Spirit Tree being covered by partnering local businesses.

The Spirit Tree Society would like to thank all sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners for their generosity for making the record-breaking season possible.
