Outdoor rinks now open in Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie says its Parks team has been hard at work so they can open up eight skating surfaces for public use.

Four ODRs and four skating-only rinks are now open:

ODR’s:

• Alexander Forbes
• Crystal Park
• Hillside
• Swanavon

Skating-only:

• I.V. Macklin
• J.C. Mackie Park (lights until 10 p.m.)
• Muskoseepi Pond (lights until 10 p.m.)
• Parkside

The City did note that all ODR’s along with the Muskoseepi Pond and J.C. Mackie Park rink will have lights on until 10 p.m.

A full list of all rinks, including a map with locations, is available on the City’s website.

They do note that maintenance will be limited over the holidays, and conditions may vary.

Residents are also asked to check the forecast before hitting the ice, and dress accordingly.
