County of Grande Prairie garbage and recycling pickup to proceed unaffected by holiday closures

Holiday closures will not disrupt county residents’ garbage and recycling pickup.

The County of Grande Prairie says collections along Whispering Ridge and Westlake Village will go on Friday, Jan. 2, as scheduled, while no pickups are scheduled for Thursday, New Year’s Day.

While collection will continue as planned, several facilities will be closed.

The Clairmont Centre for Recycling and Waste Management and the Elmworth Transfer Station close early at 3 p.m. Dec. 31, the West Grande Prairie Regional Transfer Station is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 1, and the Clairmont Centre and Teepee Creek Transfer Station will be closed Jan. 1 all day.
