The Philip J Currie Dinosaur Museum is being recognized for meeting and modelling international best practices standards.

The museum has been named a Recognized Museum Leader by the Alberta Museums Association for the period of 2026-2034.

AMA awarded the museum the distinction for going above and beyond standard museum accreditation and their leadership role in the community.

The Dinosaur Museum is one of four museums listed as a Recognized Museum Leader in 2026, alongside the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller.

The museum has been given a plaque recognizing their new title which will be placed in their foyer in the coming days.
