Storm game, other local sports for Thursday

Storm

The Storm are back in action Thursday night at the Bonnetts Energy Centre for the first time in over a month.

They host Fort McMurray for a triple header that will go into the weekend.

Thursday’s game will start at 7 p.m. There is also a game Saturday set for 6 p.m. and another on Sunday with a 2 p.m. puck drop.

Thursday’s match-up is also the Storm’s Minor Hockey Night. Minor hockey teams from across the Peace will be in attendance.

Currently, the Storm sit at fourth in the North Division, seven points behind the second-place Oil Barons.

NPHL

There is one game in the North Peace Hockey League on Thursday.

Grande Prairie will travel to Dawson Creek. Face-off time will be 8:30 p.m.

The second-place Athletics have 16 points, two back of the first-place Canucks.

NWJHL

There were two games in the Northwest Junior Hockey League Wednesday night.

Beaverlodge tripled visiting Sexsmith 9-3 while Fort St. John won 4-2 in Dawson Creek.

The schedule resumes Friday night.

Nitehawk

The ski hill at Nitehawk is open from 5:30-9:30 Thursday night.

The Tube Zone will be closed.
