Moose and deer sightings reported in Grande Prairie

Jan 8, 2026 | 4:49 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is advising residents of multiple sightings of moose and deer within City limits.

A mother moose with two calves was seen near Borstad Hill, several deer were seen behind the Aquatera Outdoor Pool, including a possibly aggressive female, and a large bull moose was reported in the Royal Oaks area near Roy Bickell School.

Anyone walking their dog in the area is being reminded they are required by bylaw to keep their pets leashed for pet and owner safety.

The sightings have been reported to Alberta Fish and Wildlife.

You can go to the Government of Alberta’s website for more information about what to do if you see a moose or deer.
