Snow clearing crews to revisit missed roads this week

Jan 12, 2026 | 6:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie says following the recent two-week residential snow clearing rotation, crews will be going back to certain neighbourhoods to address roads that were not fully completed and have received snowfall since the beginning of the rotation.

Crews will focus on specific streets and sections where conditions need additional attention, and this work will not be a full two-week rotation of each neighbourhood.

Planned schedule:

  • Monday, Jan. 12 – Hillside, Mountview, and VLA/Montrose
  • Tuesday, Jan. 13 – Countryside North and South, Country Club West, and Signature Falls
  • Wednesday, Jan. 14 – Pinnacle Ridge and Westpointe (including back lanes), as well as Avondale, College Park, and Swanavon
  • Thursday, Jan. 15 – Lakeshore Drive and Kensington, Mission Heights, O’Brien Lake, and Stone Ridge
  • Friday, Jan. 16 – Lakeland and Crystal Lake Estates

The City asks that vehicles be off the road in the listed areas on their scheduled day so crews can complete the work that needs to be done.

Permanent snow route parking bans remain in effect on Priority roads and parking is not permitted at any time on streets where a windrow is present.

City crews will continue maintaining Priority roads throughout this period, including Priority 2 routes within neighbourhoods. This work continues daily and through the weekend.

The City says this schedule is subject to change as conditions evolve and service levels may be affected by snow storage available.
