Kevin Koe’s team is headed back to the Brier.

Koe beat Johnson Tao 9-7 in the men’s final at curling provincials in Okotoks on Sunday.

The Evan Van Amsterdam rink, with Dawson Creek’s Jason Ginter at second, was the only team with a connection to The Peace to advance to the playoffs.

They lost 6-5 in an extra end to Tao in the 3-4 game.

Selena Sturmay will represent Alberta at the Scotties as the provincial champions after beating Serena Gray-Withers 9-5 in the women’s final.

Kayla Skrlik’s team will also be at the Scotties as one of the pre-qualified teams.

The Scotties starts on January 23 in Mississauga, Ontario.

The Brier starts February 27 in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The Brad Gushue rink, with Beaverlodge’s Geoff Walker playing lead, will represent the host province.
