Team Skrlik eliminated from playoff contention at the Scotties

Kayla Skrlik’s team has been eliminated from playoff contention at the Scotties in a draw that saw the three playoff teams from Pool B decided.  

Skrlik lost 8-4 to Manitoba on Wednesday. Manitoba is 6-0 and will make the playoffs.

Selena Sturmay’s Alberta champions will also advance. They are now 5-1 after an 11-6 win over Newfoundland and Labrador.

Christina Black’s pre-qualified team from Nova Scotia will also go to the playoffs. They beat PEI 6-3 in the Wednesday afternoon draw.

In Pool A, Kaitlyn Lawes’ team is 6-0 and has clinched a playoff spot. Team Canada is 5-1, Ontario and Nova Scotia are 4-2.

Ontario plays 3-3 Saskatchewan Wednesday night. Nova Scotia faces Yukon. Lawes plays the Northwest Territories. Team Canada has a bye.

Team Skrlik will finish the round robin with two games on Thursday.

They will play Newfoundland and Labrador at 7 a.m. Alberta time, then take on Black at 5 p.m. Alberta time.
