GPDCS Superintendent asks people to check on each other in parent letter responding to Tumbler Ridge shootings

The Superintendent of Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools has sent a letter to parents that says “our hearts are heavy” after the shootings in Tumbler Ridge.

The letter from Dr. Jesse Shirley says that “when harm touches any school, it is felt across the entire education community.”

The letter asks people to check on each other and, if necessary, offer both strength and comfort. In times like these, connection and compassion matter deeply.”

The letter asks parents that thinks their child might need more support to contact their school.
