Measles exposures at Sand Zone Play Area in Grande Prairie

Residents who attended the Sand Zone Indoor Play Area this week or in late January may have been exposed to measles.

According to AHS, an individual with measles was at the children’s attraction Jan. 26, Jan. 29, and Feb. 10 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. all three days.

Now, anyone who attended the Sand Zone during the exposure period and develops measles symptoms is asked to stay home and call the hotline at 1-844-944-3434.

Symptoms include:

  • Fever of 38.3°C or higher
  • Cough, runny nose and/or red eyes
  • A rash that appears three to seven days after fever starts
