Swimming Canada awards Dawson father-son duo

A father-son duo from Grande Prairie has been recognized with some awards from Swimming Canada.

A story by Jim Morris posted to the organization’s website says Oliver Dawson is Swimming Canada’s Junior Male Swimmer of the Year and Breakout Performer of the Year for the Olympic Program.

Oliver’s dad, Alex Dawson, was named Junior Coach of the Year.

Last July, Oliver Dawson was part of the Canadian team that won the bronze medal in the Mixed 4 x 100 metre Medley Relay at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.

Alex coaches his son and is the coach of the Grande Prairie Piranhas Swim Team.
