Fairview RCMP make a pair of unrelated arrests while executing a warrant

Mar 3, 2026 | 6:02 AM

A prolific offender and wanted individual was arrested after Fairview RCMP executed an arrest warrant at a residence on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Mounties say the warrant was successful and 40-year-old Bonnie Casselton, a resident of Fairview, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for charges that include break-and-enter, possession of break-in tools, mischief, possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with a release order.

She was brought before a justice of the peace and released from custody with a court date set for Mar. 23.

However, a second, unrelated arrest was made before Mounties executed the warrant, as while approaching the residence, Officers noticed a vehicle running in the driveway with the driver, “a known prolific offender,” asleep behind the wheel with drug paraphernalia.

An arrest and search of the vehicle turned up multiple stolen license plates that were seized along with the drug paraphernalia.

Fourty-two-year-old Drew James Clegg, a resident of Bluesky, had one count of property obtained by crime against him, with a court date set for Mar. 25.

Fairview RCMP detachment commander, Sgt. David Illi called this “a great example of how a call for service can change unexpectedly. Our officers are always on alert for all types of criminality no matter the type of call.”
