2026 Pond Hockey Championships taking place a Mile Zero Regional Multiplex Mar. 6-8

The Alberta Pond Hockey championships will be taking place indoors this weekend at the Mile Zero Regional Multiplex in Grimshaw.

Multiple teams of four will be going head-to-head in a celebration of hockey’s origins.

Other attractions throughout the weekend will include food services, a beer garden, a gala event and a fireworks show Saturday night.

The games start in a round robin style at 3:00 p.m. today, and will carry on through tout the weekend, wrapping up with the championship final game Sunday at 5:00 p.m.

This will be the first year the tournament has gone on in three years, after warm weather forced the event to be cancelled in 2024 and 2025.
