Yellow warning for freezing rain issued by Environment Canada

Mar 17, 2026 | 10:54 PM

Environment Canada has issued yellow warnings for freezing rain for several areas in the Peace.

That includes the City and County of Grande Prairie, the MD of Greenview, Big Lakes County, and the MDs of Lesser Slave River and Opportunity.

The weather office says the worst of the freezing rain is expected Tuesday night, but could continue into Wednesday morning.

It is asking anyone walking or driving to be very careful.

Environment Canada says yellow warnings come out when the weather may cause damage or disruptions. The impacts are expected to be localized, short term and moderate.
