Clairmont RCMP offering rail-safety tips for off-highway vehicle users
Clairmont RCMP are reminding the public to use caution when operating off-highway vehicles near railway tracks.
As warmer temperatures and melting snow create muddy terrain, Mounties say the risk of vehicles becoming stuck increases, creating potential safety risks if they are stuck on or near a railway track.
Mounties in Clairmont are offering safety tips for OHV users:
- Avoid travelling on or near railway tracks and rail corridors
- Be aware of changing ground conditions that can lead to vehicles becoming stuck
- Plan routes in safe, designated areas away from rail infrastructure
- Never attempt to cross tracks except at designated crossings
