Grande Prairie road bans

City & County gravel road bans in effect next week

Mar 20, 2026 | 1:21 PM

The City and County of Grande Prairie will be implementing gravel road bans starting on Monday, Mar. 23.

Officials say once they’re in effect, all gravel roads are restricted to 75 per cent axle weight between 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

They add that says these bans are put in effect during the spring thaw, as gravel roads are vulnerable to damage.
