“Sawed-off shotgun, knuckle dusters” & other items seized on Hwy. 43

An Alberta RCMP Traffic unit arrested a Spirit River resident during active patrols in the MD of Greenview on Monday, Apr. 6.

Mounties observed a damaged vehicle parked in a roadside pullout along Highway 43, near Fox Creek, with the driver appearing to be slumped over the wheel.

While conducting a wellness check, officers noted contraband in plain sight and an arrest and search of the vehicle was conducted, with a number of illegal items seized:

  • A sawed-off .410 shotgun
  • Ammunition
  • A set of aluminum knuckle dusters (brass knuckles)
  • A quantity of drug paraphernalia

Curtis Davis of Spirit River was arrested for numerous firearms and weapons-related offences, and was released on conditions with a court date set for Apr. 28 in Whitecourt.
