Highway 750 fatal collision investigation remains ongoing

Apr 13, 2026 | 3:10 PM

High Prairie RCMP are providing an update on Saturday’s (Apr. 12) fatal collision on Highway 750.

Mounties say a northbound semi crashed head-on with a southbound pickup truck, 16 kms south of Gift Lake Metis Settlement.

The driver of the pick-up, a 44-year-old male, was ejected from his vehicle during impact and declared deceased at the scene, while the semi driver, a 52-year-old man, was taken by EMS to a hospital, treated and released.

RCMP noted that the semi attempted to swerve and avoid a collision but failed and ended up in the ditch after the crash; as a result, the truck began to spill oil, which has now been cleaned up.

At this time, the investigation remains ongoing.

Mounties are sending their condolences to the family of the deceased and provided a contact for anyone impacted by this incident needing support or guidance: 825-799-5128 or email info@westarvss.ca.
