Société historique et généalogique de Smoky River recevies provincial funding
A francophone organization in Smoky River, preserving the region’s history and genealogy, has received funding from the province.
Société historique et généalogique de Smoky River has received $33,417 from the Government of Alberta’s Community Facilities Enhancement Program to replace their documentation centre’s roof.
The now 40-year-old roof needs to be replaced to protect the centre’s archives and the building’s longevity.
“We are extremely grateful for this support from the Government of Alberta,” said Carmen Ewing, President of the Société. “This funding allows us to take a crucial step in preserving our documentation centre and safeguarding invaluable archives for our community.”
