Head of C-P Rail not on board with Alberta Government’s oil shipments by rail plan

The head of C-P Rail says he doesn’t support the Alberta government’s plan to boost oil shipments by rail — even though the railway ended up agreeing to what he says was a good deal with the province.
Premier Rachel Notley announced the 3.7-billion-dollar agreement earlier this week with Canadian Pacific and Canadian National amid a pipeline crunch squeezing oilsands producers.
Canadian Pacific C-E-O Keith Creel told a conference in Miami yesterday that he didn’t think the government intervention was healthy in a commercial space.
But Creel admitted the deal reached with the province was “just as good if not better” than others hammered out by the railway.
