Grande Prairie Youth Career Discovery Expo taking place May 7

Apr 23, 2026 | 2:15 PM

Grande Prairie’s 2026 Youth Career Discovery Expo is fast approaching.

In two weeks, the annual event will return for a third year to highlight the number of career opportunities and educational pathways available in the Grande Prairie region for youth and young adults between the ages of 14 and 30.

Over 100 exhibitors are expected to participate, joining the expo’s focus on interactive, hands-on experiences for participants to try key aspects of different career opportunities.

“The Youth Career Discovery Expo helps young people see their potential,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “By creating space for hands-on learning and real conversations with employers, post-secondary institutions and training providers, we are helping youth build confidence and recognize that meaningful opportunities exist for them right here in Grande Prairie.”

The event is supported through funding from the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy to help reduce barriers for youth and strengthen connections between young people and local employers.

The free-to-attend event is happening May 7 at the Bonnetts Energy Centre.
