Grande Prairie beginning pest control operations in May

The City of Grande Prairie is set to begin pest control operations in May.

Crews will be working from May to October, weather depending, to target noxious weeds, insects and plant diseases from city-owned land.

The city will use a combination of chemicals, mechanical and manual treatments registered with Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency.

They are reminding property owners that they are responsible for controlling noxious weeds on their own land and that these invasive plants can spread quickly if not managed.
