ATA organizing physical activity challenge for mental health week

May 4, 2026 | 1:21 PM

Students from Grande Prairie schools and the surrounding area will be participating in physical activity challenges to raise mental health awareness.

Three local Alberta Teacher Association chapters are organizing students to track their physical activity from May 4 to May 10 and enter their names for a chance to win prizes like a day pass for Eastlink Centre and a one-hour pass for the Grande Prairie Clip ‘n’ Climb.

The initiative is meant to promote healthy habits while raising awareness about the connection between physical activity and mental health to reduce stress, improve mood, and support overall wellness.

The challenge is being organized by ATA chapters Trumpeter Logical No. 26, Northern Spirit Local No. 6, and GP Catholic Local 42.
