Arrest made in 2025 City Centre shooting

May 5, 2026 | 4:09 PM

One suspect is in custody after a shooting in Grande Prairie’s City Centre in November left a man paralyzed.

RCMP say officers responded to an alleyway near 100 Ave and 96 Street on Nov. 10, 2025, after hearing shots fired.

Officers then located a man who sustained “life-altering injuries.”

The General Investigation Section then took over the case, and with help from the Forensic Identification Section and other local units, a “lengthy investigation” concluded with the arrest of a Grande Prairie man.

Thirty-four-year-old Avery (AJ) Howard Letendre was remanded into custody on seven charges, with a court date set for May 20:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Discharge a firearm with intent
  • Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to order
