WHL news for a couple of players from the Peace

Final starts Friday 

The Western Hockey League final starts tonight (Friday, May 8) in Everett, Washington. 

The Silvertips will host the Prince Albert Raiders. 

Zachary Shantz from Sucker Creek is with Everett. He has 10 points, including four goals, in 13 playoff games after recording 65 points in 66 regular-season games. 

Game 2 will be played tomorrow night in Everett. Games 3 and 4, and Game 5 if needed, will be played May 12, 13 and 15 in Prince Albert.

Peace Region player taken in WHL Draft  

One player from the Peace Country was picked in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft.  

Left winger Brayden Lindsay from Tumbler Ridge went in the 8th round, 162nd overall, to Saskatoon. 

Lindsay played the past couple of seasons at the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy in Victoria.
