NLC wins team title Canadian College Finals Rodeo

The rodeo team at Northern Lakes College has collected a bunch of accolades.  

The team captured the Canadian College Rodeo Association Varsity Team Championship at the Canadian College Finals Rodeo held in early May in Rimby. 

Three competitors also won individual titles. That includes Ben Coombes in bareback, Landon Dowling in steer wrestling, and Nate Siemens in tie-down roping. Siemens was also the High Point Cowboy of the Finals. 

There were also some reserve champions: Dain Ross in steer wrestling, Rylie Bondaroff in breakaway roping and Jordyn Farmer in pole bending. Ross was also the Reserve High Point Cowboy, while Bondaroff was the Reserve High Point Cowgirl. 

Ryan Collett was picked as the CCRA Cowboy of the Year. This is decided by a vote among association members and “recognizes sportsmanship, character, and excellence both in competition and within the rodeo community,” says a release from Northern Lakes College.
