Grande Prairie wildfire danger remains high

The Grande Prairie Forest Area wildfire danger level remains high.

Alberta Wildfire says current dry conditions make it very easy for a blaze to spark and spread quickly, so they are asking residents to continue using caution when spending time outdoors.

Since the start of the year, 29 wildfires have ignited in the GPFA, only burning seven hectares.

They are also using this as an opportunity to remind residents that” abandoned campfires cause many wildfires every year in the province, and shared a link on campfire safety.
