Complimentary wagons to and from GP Stompede

May 28, 2026 | 6:02 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is begining it’s complimentary GP Stompede shuttle service today.

Mayor Jakcie Clayton called it “a long-standing tradition,” adding it’s “something many residents and visitors look forward to each year.”

The shuttle will depart from Town Centre Mall to the Tara Centre on a continuous loop until 10:30 p.m.

Service will start at 3 p.m. today (Thursday, May 28) but will begin at noon for the remainder of the weekend.

The City says Town Centre was chosen as it serves as a main hub with connecting neighbourhood routes accessible from the same stop.

Clayton adds that these shuttles are “one way the City can help people get to the grounds, enjoy the festivities and spend more time taking in everything the weekend has to offer,” while keeping roads safe for all.

In a post to social media, the Grande Prairie Police Service asked all residents to “celebrate responsibly,” so this can be “a safe and enjoyable weekend for all.”
