Construction coming to major westside intersections

May 29, 2026 | 6:00 AM

Two major intersections along 100 Avenue will see road rehabilitation work starting on Monday, June 1.

100 Ave intersections, 108 Street by Staples and 116 Street across from Costco are undergoing work to “maintain, improve and renew these key commuter corridors,” as part of “ongoing infrastructure renewal efforts along the 100 Ave corridor.”

The City says the project will include ” asphalt milling, paving, concrete work, and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings to help maintain and renew these key transportation corridors.”

During construction, drivers should expect “short-term closures and delays,” with crews mainly operating during the day, but the City did say some overnight work (10 p.m. – 7 a.m.) will take place, to “minimize traffic impacts.”

However, a completion date for this project was not provided by the City.

Anyone wanting more information on this project or other construction around Grande Prairie can visit the City’s website.
