Vigen leads at the Medicine Hat Stampede
Professional chuckwagon racing has resumed following washout conditions earlier this week in Bonnyville, where the final race day was postponed and eventually cancelled.
The World Professional Chuckwagon Association’s third stop of the 2026 season kicked off last night (Thursday, June 11) at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede.
Grande Prairie native and defending Medicine Hat champion for the past two years, Chanse Vigen, topped the standings on the first night of racing with a penalty-free run of 1:02.88.
The second fastest run of the night came from Wade Salmond with a 1:04.26. Rounding out the top five were Jason Glass, Darcy Flad, and Doug Irvine and Evan Salmond, who tied for fifth.
