Empowering Minds Initiative taking place in Rycroft

The Rycroft Agricultural Society is holding an event this week to help people better identify mental health problems.

The Empowering Minds: First Identifier Initiative aims to help people notice when someone is struggling and how to point them toward help.

Empowering Minds describes first identifiers not as medical experts but as people who notice when something is off and what to do next.

Led by award-winning rural advocate and humanitarian Ian Hill, the initiative will take place over two days in Rycroft, starting with a training seminar for youth aged 17 to 25 on Tuesday, June 16, and followed by a public training event Wednesday, June 17.

Both training sessions are taking place at the Rycroft Agricultural Society Hall at 6:00 p.m. with a dinner service at 5:30 p.m.
