NAF announces value raise for Beaverlodge Elementary students fund

Jun 18, 2026 | 1:12 PM

The Northwestern Alberta Foundation is celebrating the rise in value of a fund supporting Beaverlodge Elementary School students.

A recent donation from Rex and Karin Marshall has raised their self-titled Education and Wellness Fund to a value of more than $360,000 since its establishment in 2021.

“We are honoured to work alongside Rex and Karin as they create a lasting legacy for Beaverlodge,” said Laura LaValley, CEO of the Northwestern Alberta Foundation. “Their generosity reflects a deep belief in the power of education and the importance of investing in future generations.”

Each year the Rex and Karin Marshall Education and Wellness Fund awards two Grade 6 students with a cash prize and a contribution that is held for postsecondary education.

“We’ve been fortunate to be part of this community for many years,” said Rex and Karin Marshall. “This fund is our way of giving back, supporting students, and honouring the educators who made Beaverlodge such a special place to learn and grow.”

The Marshalls will present this year’s awards at a ceremony at Beaverlodge Elementary School Friday, June 19.
