Cranberry Lake Rodeo, Hines Creek Race Days, baseball, football, rugby, lacrosse all on this weekend

Cranberry Lake Rodeo

The 44th annual Cranberry Lake Rodeo is set for Friday through Sunday at the grounds near DeBolt.

Events start with the ranch rodeo at 5 p.m. Friday, followed by the All-Pro chuckwagons at 8 p.m.

The schedule for Saturday and Sunday starts with the local rodeo starting at 11 a.m., with the wild horse race at 2:30 p.m., WRA main performances at 3 pm. and wagons at 7 p.m. 

The rodeo slack starts on Saturday at 8 a.m. 

Hines Creek Race Days

Hines Creek Race Days are set for Saturday.

Racing will start at 11 a.m.

The last race of the day will start at around 3 p.m.

Wheatbelt Baseball League

In the Wheatbelt Baseball League on Saturday, the County Brewers will be in Rycroft for a double-header.

Game times are 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Minor Baseball

Grande Prairie Minor Baseball is hosting the Midsummer Invitational Community League Tournament Friday through Sunday at Evergreen Park.

There will be 38 local teams taking part in the Rookie (9U), 11U, 13U, and 15/18 U divisions.

Games start Friday at 6 p.m.

Football

The Peace Country Cowboys visit the Calgary Wolf Pack Saturday.

Game time will be 7 p.m.

The Cowboys are 0-2 so far this season.

The Wolf Pack is 1-0.

Rugby

The Sirens visit the Clan Saturday in Edmonton.

That game will get underway at 1 p.m.

The Centaurs visit the Nor’Westers in Edmonton on Saturday.

That game will start at 1:30. 

Lacrosse

The Peace Country Honey Badgers Jr. B lacrosse team will visit the Lloydminster Xtreme Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at noon. 

The Honey Badgers are 9-3 so far this season and in third place in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League standings.
