Ribbon cutting ceremony held June 18 for Kikinow Elders Lodge

The Kikinow Elders Lodge is officially open at Victor Lake.

The Municipal District of Greenview is celebrating a ribbon-cutting ceremony held Thursday, June 18, to mark a significant milestone.

Among the ceremony attendees were Evergreen Foundation Board Chair and Greenview Councillor Winston Delorme, Reeve Ryan Ratzlaff, and Councillors Hackenberg, Schlief, and Soderquist.

The new facility will provide local Elders with safe, comfortable, and cultural housing close to family and their community.

Development of the lodge was funded in part by the Alberta government, who invested over $2 million through the Indigenous Housing Capital program.

The MD says they are honoured to support this development and congratulate the developers for their vision and hard work.
