Final set at Rangeland Derby, Tournier still leads WPCA aggregate in Teepee Creek

It will be Jamie Laboucane, Chanse Vigen and Jason Glass in the final at the Calgary Stampede’s Rangeland Derby.

Laboucane led the aggregate after nine days of racing with a combined time of 10:47.00. Vigen finished second overall with a total time of 10:49.97, with Glass third at 10:52.11.

Laboucane also had the fastest time Saturday night at 1:11.01, followed by Glass, Ross Knight and Vigen.

At the Teepee Creek Stampede, Luke Tournier leads the aggregate after two nights of heats, with a total time of 1:52.73, 2.5 seconds ahead of second place D.J. King. D.J. DeSutter and Doug Irvine (Wagon #2) round out the top four in the aggregate.

King had the fastest time Saturday night, clocking in at 56 seconds flat, followed by Tournier six-tenths of a second back, then Irvine and DeSutter.

The first place driver in the aggregate after Sunday night’s races will be declared the champion.

The final round of the pro rodeo at the Teepee Creek Stampede will start at 1 p.m. Sunday. The evening Grand Entry will start at 6 p.m. It will be followed by the wild pony races, All-Pro and WPCA wagons.
