Health minister issues statement following a meeting with county reps

The office of Health Minister Sarah Hoffman has issued a brief, written statement to our newsroom following Monday’s meeting with county representatives regarding a new Beaverlodge hospital.

Hoffman and Infrastructure Minister Sandra Jansen met with the Reeve of the County of Grande Prairie and the Mayors of Beaverlodge. Hythe, and Wembley.

The statement does not offer details of what was talked about. It does add that repairs and upgrades already planned for the existing hospital will continue.

It also says a new hospital for Beaverlodge, “is definitely something we need to consider very carefully in our work to support and protect front-line services in rural communities”.
