Rodeos, horse racing, football, rugby, auto racing, lacrosse this weekend

Manning Rodeo

The 74th Manning Rodeo goes this weekend at the Battle River Ag. Grounds.

The junior rodeo starts at 4 p.m. Friday. The local rodeo will follow. The All-Pro wagons and chariots start at 8 p.m.

Saturday starts with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Legion Hall. The parade starts at 10:30. The WRA rodeo starts at noon, with the local rodeo to follow. The rodeo slack goes at 5 p.m, then the wagons and chariots at 8 p.m.

Sunday, the WRA Rodeo starts at 11 a.m. with the wagons and chariots at 3 p.m. The demolition derby and lawnmower races start at 5 p.m.

The memorial softball tournament goes all weekend.

Horse Racing

Horse racing Saturday and Sunday at Evergreen Park.

Post time will be 1:15 p.m. both days.

The Wiener Dog Derby is set for Sunday.

Peace Country Cowboys

The Peace Country Cowboys host the Central Alberta Buccaneers Saturday.

Kick-off will be at 6:30 p.m. at CKC Field.

Both teams are 0-4 on the season.

Rugby

The Sirens and Centaurs rugby teams host the Pirates Saturday at Macklin Field.

The Sirens game starts at 1 p.m.

The Centaurs game follows at 3 p.m.

Auto Racing

The Hythe Motor Speedway will host the Bomber Throw Down this weekend.

Racing starts at 5 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The free-to-attend Mini Sprint Racing starts at 10 a.m. Saturday at 9 a.m. Sunday at the small dirt track.

Lacrosse

The Peace Country Honey Badgers Jr. B lacrosse team will play the St. Albert Crude in Round 2 of the Jr. B Tier II North playoffs.

Game 1 will start Saturday at 2 p.m. in Fort Saskatchewan.

Game 2 is set for Sunday at 11 a.m. in St. Albert.

Game 3, if needed, would also be played Sunday in St. Albert starting at 4 p.m.
