54.5 per cent of the crop in the Peace rated good or excellent says new crop report
The July 14 crop report from Alberta Agriculture and AFSC says that 54.5 per cent of the major crops in the Peace were in good to excellent condition as of that date.
That same number was at 57.9 per cent in the July 7 report.
The breakdown by crop is 59.6 per cent for spring wheat, 58.4 per cent for barley, 57.4 per cent for oats, 53.2 per cent for dry peas, 50.1 per cent for canola, 48.1 per cent for fall rye and 47.6 per cent for winter wheat.
The five-year average is 50.8 per cent, the 10-year average 60.4 per cent.
