GP Transit Quest challenging youth to explore in August

The City of Grande Prairie is encouraging youth to explore their local transit system with a scavenger hunt next month.

Throughout August, youth between the ages of 6 and 17 can take part in GP Transit Quest, travelling to Grande Prairie’s major transit hubs and community destinations as they complete challenges and learn how to navigate routes.

The quest begins at the Towne Centre Mall Transit Hub, where all Grande Prairie Transit routes connect, before continuing to:

  • Community Knowledge Campus / Eastlink Centre
  • Northwestern Polytechnic
  • Prairie Mall
  • Grande Prairie Museum & Heritage Village

“GP Transit Quest is about giving youth the confidence to use transit while having fun exploring their community,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “I encourage youth to make GP Transit Quest part of their summer. Whether you’re exploring on your own, with friends, or with your family, it’s a chance to discover new places, learn a practical life skill, and see more of everything Grande Prairie has to offer.”

Registration for the challenge opens August 1; eligible youth will ride for free with their SUPERPASS cards.

Every participant will receive a complimentary Eastlink Centre day pass.
