New PWA to open with room for 1200 students says PWPSD

The Peace Wapiti Public School Division says the new Peace Wapiti Academy will have room for 1200 students when it opens.  

It could expand to hold 1425 kids. 

The division says the school “will likely open (with) Grades 9 to 12, but can accommodate (Grades) 8 to 12 if needed.” 

Construction is expected to start next spring and finish in the summer of 2029. 

It will be built along Range Road 62, west of the Whispering Ridge subdivision. 

The school division adds that some bus routes will have to be reorganized but does not expect any significant changes
