City of Grande Prairie provides update on Bear River chemical spill
The City of Grande Prairie has provided an update on the petroleum hydrocarbon spill in Bear River on Friday, July 25.
It was first reported to the City on Friday evening by a resident, and City crews, the Grande Prairie Fire Department and the Hazardous Materials Team (HazMat) all responded.
The City says a full clean-up is underway as the petroleum hydrocarbon spill has been contained between Maskwoteh Park and the Grande Prairie Museum.
At this time, there is no danger to the public, but they suggest keeping children and pets out of the water.
