City seeking public feedback on 132 Ave and 116 St. twinning project

Aug 5, 2026 | 11:57 AM

The City of Grande Prairie is seeking public feedback on a planned road twinning project.

The city is contemplating twinning portions of 132 Avenue and 116 Street to support growth, increasing traffic volumes and future infrastructure needs.

The project is currently in the planning stage, and construction could start any time over the next five to 20 years.

Residents, businesses, and stakeholders are invited to share their thoughts on the project, including access, safety, and property impacts.

“Planning for our transportation network well in advance helps ensure we are prepared as Grande Prairie continues to grow,” says City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “Input from people who live, work, and travel in these areas will help us better understand local considerations as the design moves forward.”
