UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm watches now include City, County of Grande Prairie

UPDATE: Environment Canada has now issued severe thunderstorm watches for the City and County of Grande Prairie and the entire MD of Greenview, including DeBolt, Sturgeon Lake, Valleyview and Grande Cache.

Yellow watches are also out for the B.C. Peace, Hinton and the Willmore Wilderness Park.

A yellow warning is out for the area north of Highway 43 between Whitecourt and Blue Ridge.

ORIGINAL STORY: Environment Canada has issued yellow watches for severe thunderstorms for the Fox Creek and Whitecourt areas.

The weather office says storms will develop Saturday afternoon and move east across central Alberta. Some of the storms could produce high winds, rain and hail.

The areas down to Drayton Valley, Rocky Mountain House, Edmonton, Red Deer and Drumheller also have yellow watches for severe thunderstorms in place.

The air quality warnings that were out from the area east of Woking to Winagami Lake and north past Manning that were issued yesterday have ended.
