Residents asked to share feedback on 132 Ave & 116 St twinning

Aug 12, 2026 | 1:27 PM

The City of Grande Prairie is planning for future growth and is looking for community input.

The City plans to twin both 132 Avenue and 116 Street and wants the public to “help inform the long-term design,” with an interactive map available on their website, where residents can identify areas with “opportunities, concerns or other considerations for the project team.”

They added that as the City grows, this route sees an increase in traffic, including large trucks, as it provides an important connection between Highway 40 and 43.

Anyone interested in providing feedback on this twinning project can visit the City’s website.

The City did note that “Construction is not planned at this time,” as the project is only in the planning and design phase.
