Two suspects arrested in Peace River armed robbery

Aug 25, 2026 | 11:53 AM

A late night 9-1-1 call on Saturday, August 22, prompted the Peace River RCMP to attend a local business where an armed robbery had just taken place.

Mounties say a female and male allegedly entered a store in Peace River just before 10 p.m. that day and attempted to leave with unpaid merchandise. Staff confronted the pair, but the one produced a machete and fled the scene in a vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Responding police officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it. With the assistance of Fairview RCMP, Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS), and the Real Time Operations Center (RTOC), a tire deflation device was utilized, and both suspects were arrested without incident.

Twenty-one-year-old Peyton Robinson and 24-year-old Billy Ferguson, both of Fox Creek, were arrested and charged on multiple counts.

Robinson was charged with robbery and dangerous operation of a vehicle and was released with conditions after a Judicial Interim Hearing. She is to appear in Peace River’s Court of Justice on Sept. 21, 2026.

Furgeson has been charged with robbery, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and assault. He was remanded into custody and will be in Peace River court on Aug. 31, 2026.
