Ongoing Firesmart work in Mission Heights & Grande Banks

FireSmart™ vegetation management work is back underway in the Bear Creek Corridor.

The City says it’s continuing its efforts to “reduce wildfire risk and strengthen community safety” by focusing on higher-risk areas, reducing flammable vegetation, and improving defensible space.

Work is currently underway behind residences in Mission Heights and Grande Banks and is expected to continue in these areas over the next couple of months; Once completed, crews will then work their way north.

The City did note that those living in the area may see a higher volume of workers, equipment and active work zones, which residents are asked to avoid.
