1,157 flags placed to honour lives lost for Overdose Awareness Day

The Grande Prairie Police Service joined the Northreach Society to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day.

As part of their initiative, 1,157 purple flags were placed along 98th Street to recognize each life lost to accidental opioid deaths in Alberta last year.

GPPS says, ” we remember those who have died, acknowledge the impact on families and communities, and remain committed to working alongside our partners to make Grande Prairie safer and stronger for everyone.”
