Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED closed overnight Sept. 8-9 & 10-11

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital emergency department will be without an on-site physician overnight twice this week, starting tonight.

AHS says that due to a clinical personnel shortage and an inability to secure temporary coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, until 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, and again from 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, until 8:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11.

Patients are still asked to call 911 if they have a medical emergency, as EMS will remain available to reroute callers to surrounding facilities.

Nursing staff will remain on-site in the Emergency Department providing urgent triage and assessments, and a Virtual Emergency Physician is currently scheduled to support all or part of these shifts.
