AI data centre townhall visits GP
Tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 11), the Alberta Government will host the fourth and final in-person AI data centre town hall.
This meeting is set to take place in Grande Prairie, where O’Leary Ventures is attempting to build one of the largest AI data centres in the world, inside the Greenview Industrial Gateway.
Minister of Technology and Innovation Nate Glubish will host the public forum and go over Alberta’s “clear rules to protect what matters: Albertans, our communities, land, water and grid reliability,” along with answering any questions or concerns residents may have about these projects.
So far, these town halls have had mixed reactions, as last month an AI town hall in Lacombe turned for the worst, as Glubish was booed, badgered and heckled throughout the night by attendees.
